My dad passed away 3 years ago. As my mom went through his clothes, there were some shirts that she just didn't want to get rid of! When she came to visit me, she brought them along and we started makeing a quilt for her and all of my siblings out of the shirts. We added pictures of dad with each of us, his Forest Service patches and even the pockets with a copy of the last 3x5 card with his list of 'things to do'. I am adding sayings that both mom and dad used to tell me like "Build Memories","True happiness is living the gospel", "Leave it cleaner than you find it" "Happiness is not always doing what you like, but liking what you do". Now Mom is hand quilting each of them for us. this will be something that will be treasured forever. I will post mine when it is completed.
