Review of Jolene's Creations Etsy Shop

Wanted to pass along the review of my Etsy site that was done by "Being Frugal and Making it Work" This has been done in conection with a give way. Go to her site and check it out.

Also, let any of your friends that might me interested know.

Jolene's Creations Etsy Shop - Handmade Baby Items (Review & Giveaway)

Over the past few months I've been browsing through a variety of Etsy shops. As I look through all of their wonderful handmade creations, I'm amazed and wish that I had half of their talent.

Jolene's Creations is an Etsy Shop that has lovely handmade baby items. Car seat covers, receiving blankets, burp cloths, changing pads, and nursing covers. You can choose to purchase the items individually or in a set.

I chose the grey and paisley polka dot car seat cover. I love how the different fabrics and patterns create a unique baby accessory.
The car seat canopy keeps your baby protected from wind, rain, cold, heat, germs, also provides a privacy barrier from well meaning admirers when baby wants to sleep!

Made from 100% cotton and chenille, they wash up nicely and will last a very long time. It is clear by the quality of these items that a lot of time, hard work and love went into each one of them.

These unique handmade baby items make the perfect gift for any baby shower or expecting parents. Of course, if you love Jolene's Creations as much as I do - you're going to want them for your baby too!

Mormon Trail Wagon Train - Beginning

‎15 years ago our family participated on the Mormon Trail Wagon Train a 3 month adventure that greatly impacted our whole family.

Next week there is a 15 year reunion (that I don't get to go to) so I decided to post pictures and some stories from our experience. I will post something each day until the runuion.
 I'll STart at the beginning...

My friend Tammy invited my family to join them for a week end on the Wagon Train that was starting near them. It sounded like a fun time so we got a few families around here to join us and we started preparing...

This is our group.

These are two favorit pictures from our first 24 housrs on the trail:

Sewing woth Grandchildren

Maribella and her children are staying with us for awhile. I have taken this opportunity to so some sewing with Jade and JT. JT picked out several pieces of fabric he liked from my 'stash' then held on to my hand as 'we' sewed his blanket together. It is just stripes of fabric on the front and soft minky on the back. He loves his blanket he made with Grandma.

Then Jade, being much older and completely sewed her blanket, the back is a soft rosette minky. It was such a delightful experience to make this together.

We are planning a few more projects before they move into their new home later this month.

Starting the baby's room

My youngest daughter recently had her first baby. What fun!!!! While waiting, they had fun gathering furniture, fixing them up and decorating a room for the baby.
They picked the theme of Jungle Animals.

To start with they were given this glider, Alison decided she wanted to recover it with a zebra print.
They also got a crib and wanted to do sheets, bumper pads and a dust ruffle for it.
So we all went to work....
Byron started sewing the sheet.
Alison started on the glider.
 Here they are working together:
Alison got the foot stool recovered.
Byron finished the sheet.
I did the bumper pads.
Tune in later to see how Byron painted the room and see it all put together.

Small World

I went to a quilt show in Utah and met a friend from over 30 years ago when we were in High School. Amazing we could even recognize each other after all that time and in a another state. His wife designs great south western quilt designs.

Shauna's Sampler Quilt

Another one completed. I love how they each have their own personality just from the different use of colors. Check out the older posts of other Sampler Quilts that were done in the Quilting Group.

Teri's T-shirt quilts

Teri made two t-shirt quilts from concerts she has attended. You are never too old to collect concert t-shirts, and better yet, put them into a quilt.

Jennifer's Quilt

Jennifer started this quilt with the quilting group a few years ago and here is it finished. It is her first, and only one badly cut finger along the way. (Glad that didn't stop her).

Jan's Quilt

While visiting with Jan last time I was in Utah, she showed me a quilt she started over 20 years ago and had never finished. It was so close to being done, and all the material to finish it was there. I told her I would take it and finish it for her, and that's what I did. When it was sewn, Byron helped pick out a quilt design and we went to Teri's to finish it up. This is a picture of Byron with the quilt. It turned out great!
